GATHER Fellowship

Kicking off a new year of GATHER Fellowship

April 2, 2019 - News

After many applicant interviews and a lot of planning work, we’re this week excited to be kicking off the 2019 GATHER Fellowship with an incubator week in Stockholm.

From around 200 applicants from over 40 countries, 16 Fellows from Pakistan, Israel, Palestine, Egypt, Tunisia, Turkey, Mexico and the US, have been selected to take part in the 2019 GATHER Fellowship. They will throughout the year receive coaching and support to develop their social initiatives and enterprises that create and build thriving communities in areas affected by conflict.

This year’s cohort is an interesting mix of men and women, working in the arts, in education, and with initiatives such as books and food trucks. We’re excited to welcome them all to Stockholm for a kick-off week to explore conflict transformation, communications and personal and professional development. The Fellows will also visit the Swedish Parliament to discuss topics such as integration with members of parliament and they will have several opportunities to meet academics and entrepreneurs working in similar fields.

We will end the week with an inspiring event at Norrsken House in Stockholm where the 16 Fellows will share their experiences and expertise on conflict transformation. The audience will get a unique opportunity to take part in discussions to create communities across conflict and we’re excited to spend an evening discussing such an interesting topic.
