Continued efforts to strengthen the social entrepreneurship ecosystem

SE Forum continues its work to develop and strengthen the ecosystem for social entrepreneurship and social innovation in Sweden. This time we’re doing it as a project funded by Svenska Postkodlotteriets Stiftelse and our ambition is to create a force that can last.

Sweden needs innovation, tools and power to deal with the transition towards a more sustainable and resilient society. But if our focus is on tech and industry for a green transition, then we risk getting lost, losing public acceptance and missing opportunities that can develop the social sustainability needed for a just transition. Social entrepreneurship and social innovation are essential tools in an increasingly polarised society, where public spending cuts and targeted funding towards tech development leave social actors out in the cold.

After a previous collaboration project where we - SE Forum, Sopact, Reach for Change, Inkludera, Mikrofonden, Linköpings universitet, Coompanion Västerbotten, Impact Invest and Ashoka - explored how to work together to strengthen the ecosystem for social entrepreneurship and social innovation, we’re now taking the work forward in a new project where we’re aiming to establish a structure and a framework for cooperation around social entrepreneurship in Sweden.

The aim is to strengthen the ecosystem for social entrepreneurship, partly to create better conditions for social entrepreneurs and innovators to develop and contribute to social good, and partly to strengthen the sector and create stronger engagement around social entrepreneurship as a tool for sustainable development.

We want to develop an ecosystem that is inclusive, that engages companies, organisations and people who are passionate about creating positive societal change, and that enables cross-sectoral collaborations that develop solutions to our societal challenges and contribute towards achieving the Sustainable Development Goals.
