Mini Accelerator and Training of Trainers in Nairobi 2016

SE Forum just got back to icy Stockholm after spending 3 weeks in Nairobi, Kenya, where we conducted the latest Training of Trainers and Mini-Accelerator.

In partnership with Global Business Labs and Africa Nazarene University (ANU), we trained 8 business lecturers and gave them the skills to run SE trainings of their own in the future and also to incorporate the social entrepreneurial perspective into their university curriculum.

The business lecturers went through three intense days of training, after which we kicked off the Mini-Accelerator with 11 social entrepreneurs from Kenya, Uganda and Tanzania. Together with SE Forum’s lead trainer Fiona Hazell, the lecturers co-facilitated the sessions and workshops, and thus got to put their SE skills into practice. We were also joined by 6 ANU students, who greatly contributed to the programme by giving their outside perspectives on the social enterprises and also working on their own ideas.

The social entrepreneurs participating in the Mini-Accelerator were the founders of social businesses addressing everything from education to waste management to performing arts. We were so impressed by their passion and commitment and we can’t wait to watch them transform East Africa through their work!
