Wilhelm Oddo

Wilhelm Oddo is a social entrepreneur with a Bachelor’s degree in Information Systems and a passion for education. He is the founder and Director of NiwezesheLab (NLab) – an initiative which works to build an ICT competitive, creative and innovative young generation by introducing new ICT technologies and teaching coding and entrepreneurship skills to children of all abilities in Tanzania.

Wilhelm firmly believes that all children have a right to access education of high quality regardless of economic and social status. He also believes that education, if delivered with purpose, can be a path for youth to achieve their goals and fight unemployment and poverty.

In Tanzania, youth unemployment is a pressing issue. After working with tutorial assistance at the Kampala International University Campus in Dar Es Salaam, Wilhelm realized that there was a need for the education system to include skills that would enable graduates of all levels and ages to go and create a jobs rather than wait to be employed. That’s when he decided to quit his job and focus on NLab full-time.

Wilhelm took part in SE Forum’s Social Business Bootcamp in 2016.
