Creating an educational technology platform in Arabic providing workforce development tools specifically geared towards women.

Mariam

The unemployment rate for women in Egypt is staggeringly high, and women are at a disadvantage when it comes to starting their own businesses. Mariam is working to create an educational technology platform in Arabic providing workforce development tools specifically geared towards women.

“I’m most passionate about helping women in my region break barriers, build themselves up, and go beyond what they thought their potential could be.”

Mariam has been involved in community development initiatives for as long as she can remember – from volunteering as a teacher for refugees, to becoming the Chair of Social Responsibility in her university’s Student Union, to her current role as Programme Officer at the Center for Development Services, a development consultancy and project management organisation based in Cairo.
