Ruth has been engaged in several global efforts, such as the development of ISO 26000 and input to the strategy of the UN High Level Panel on Sustainability (which set the Sustainable Development Goals). Over the years, she has supported private and public investors to finance impactful businesses. In 2011-2013 she helped to launch and co-manage the challenge fund Innovations Against Poverty. Prior to this, Ruth kicked off several social enterprises in Africa on behalf of Richard Branson, as he established his non-profit venture Virgin Unite.
Her background is in media and telecoms, in senior management positions at Ericsson, Yahoo!, Orange and other global brands based in London.
Ruth holds degrees in journalism and economics with an MBA from the Warwick Business School in England, where she specialised in innovation and corporate finance. Besides running Impact Invest Scandinavia she is pursuing a PhD at KTH, Royal Institute of Technology, focusing on innovation for underserved markets. Some of her publications include the book ‘Toolbox for social business’ and co-authorship of the EVPA handbook on managing impactful exits.
