Targeting plastic pollution with sustainable and fairly produced consumer products

Suman Mehta

When wanting to set up a business of his own, Suman wanted to do something that would be sustainable in his new home country of Sweden, whilst also having a positive impact back home in India. The results was Leafymade and a solution to one of the world’s biggest challenges: plastic.

Suman takes part in Care of Business Impact – our accelerator for impact entrepreneurs that we’re running together with Impact Invest,

Leafymade

Leafymade targets plastic pollution through its natural, sustainable and biodegradable consumer products that leave no ecological footprint and are produced fairly. Its leafplates are created by sustainably sourced leaves, picked by tribal women in India, and the company works to save the environment as well as paying fair salaries and providing good working conditions.
