Providing tech and entrepreneurship training and workshops for young people in Tanzania to empower and inspire them to use their skills to solve community problems

NLab

NLab previously had huge challenges when it came to keeping the social enterprise financially sustainable. Today, following its founder, Wilhelm Oddo, attending Social Entrepreneurship Forum’s Mini-Accelerator in 2016, NLab is progressing and the enterprise offers an open space for young tech entrepreneurs, incubates and mentors them. The enterprise has managed to secure sales funds and has used them as start-up capital when establishing NLab Innovation Academy, and the enterprise has impacted 2,500 young people from secondary school and university level.

Wilhelm Oddo has also been recognised for his impressive social entrepreneurship and was listed as one of the 100 Most Positively Inspiring African Youths in 2017.

“The SE Forum Mini-Accelerator was a life-changing experience which helped me to restructure my social enterprise model and develop and financially sustainable model. It increased my expertise in business modelling and presentation skills. Right after the training I was able to comfortably teach or train BMC to my students at NLab and other organisations such as Help to Help and Apps and Girls. Now I run a series of trainings to university students in their respective institutions. Because of the exposure and credibility from SE Forum’s training I was accepted to join the highly competitive YALI programme!” – Wilheml Oddo, Founder, NLab
