Come to this months SE Bar and join in on our discussion on how working with fashion can make a better world!
This months SE Bar is hosted by SE Forum together with Sustainergies, a sustainability platform for students. Together we will take a closer look at the fashion industry and how they work towards a positive impact on sustainability and human rights. We have invited INDISKA, DEM COLLECTIVE and HOUSE OF REASON. Join us at this event, be inspired and make this an excellent networking opportunity!
Renee Andersson, Ethics and Environment manager, INDISKA
Renee works as an ethics and environment manager at Indiska. She has, among other things, received honorary doctorates for her solid work in combining ethics, environment and economy in the garment industry.
Rebecka Carlsson, co-founder of HOUSE OF REASON
HOUSE OF REASON is a free studio aiming to research radical questions concerning topics such as ethics, politics, consumption and sustainability through the venture of garment production. It was founded in 2013 by Anna Celsing, a Savile Row-trained tailor, and Rebecka Carlsson who formerly was the spokes person for Grön Ungdom and Swede´s youth representative to the UN Commission on Sustainable Development.
Annika Axelsson, founder of DEM COLLECTIVE
Ten years ago Annika and her former coullegaue Karin Stenmar found no “fair t-shirts” in the stores they visited. So that got them thinking ”if there are no fair clothes on the market – we need to fix that”. In 2004 they created Dem Collective, and started up their own textile factory in Sri Lanka. Dem Collective manages to inspire many to reflect on how and what we consume, and perhaps more importantly, how and what we produce.
